Concept of Teaching

शिक्षण की अवधारणा — Teaching एक planned, purposeful and interactive process है, जिसके माध्यम से teacher learner के knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes और behaviour में desirable change लाने का प्रयास करता है।

Teaching = Planned Interaction + Learning Facilitation + Behavioural Change + Development

शिक्षण केवल information देना या lecture deliver करना नहीं है। Effective teaching में teacher: learning objectives निर्धारित करता है, learner की needs समझता है, content व method चुनता है, environment तैयार करता है, learner को actively participate कराता है, feedback और assessment देता है।

उदाहरण: केवल "भारत का संविधान 26 जनवरी 1950 को लागू हुआ" बताना information transmission है। परंतु "संविधान को 26 नवम्बर 1949 को अपनाने के बाद 26 जनवरी 1950 को ही क्यों लागू किया गया?" — यह meaningful teaching है।

Memory Level = Facts + Repetition + Recall + Recognition + Retention
  • Teacher-centred, subject-centred, learner passive
  • Rote learning, drill, external motivation
  • Recall-based evaluation (objective, fill-in, matching)
  • Useful for basics, formulas, vocabulary, primary classes
  • Limitation: no guarantee of understanding, critical thinking weak

Autonomous Development Level

Morris L. Bigge द्वारा उल्लेखित। Learner को अधिकतम freedom, self-judgement, self-direction; formal teaching minimal. Exam caution: Standard Paper-1 main emphasis on three levels — Memory, Understanding, Reflective. Autonomous Development can appear as distractor.

  • Trap 4: Explaining relationship = Understanding; unfamiliar problem justified solution = Reflective.
  • Trap 5: Only formula = Memory; meaning & relationship = Understanding; complex problem with decision = Reflective.
  • Trap 6: Reflective level teacher is NOT absent; role changes to facilitator.
  • Trap 7: Excellent subject knowledge alone is NOT sufficient; pedagogy, communication, learner understanding, feedback also required.
